Founding Partners

Ben Wilson.  In partnership with Jim Boucher, Ben Wilson founded Wilson & Boucher Capital Management in 2005. Prior to this collaboration, he was a senior portfolio manager at SDR Capital Management, Inc. for five years, where he also served on that firm’s investment policy committee. Before joining SDR, Ben was the financial manager and a corporate trainer at Adventure Associates, Inc., a worldwide corporate training and team-building company with offices throughout the western United States. He has also served as a land acquisition manager for Larchmont Homes, Inc., one of the largest homebuilders in California. Ben earned a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Davis and his M.A. in resource economics from Colorado State University. He is a Certified Financial Planner practitioner™ and passed the NASD’s Series 65 security license.

 

Jim Boucher.  In partnership with Ben Wilson, Jim Boucher founded Wilson & Boucher Capital Management in 2005. Prior to founding the firm, Jim was a senior portfolio manager at SDR Capital Management, Inc. and was chair of the firm's investment policy committee. Before joining SDR, Jim held several professional positions at Wells Fargo Bank, including as finance manager for its Private Banking Group. He received a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley and his M.B.A. and M.P.A. degrees from California State University, Hayward. Jim has published numerous articles on topics such as analyzing treasury yields, insurance company due diligence and client investment suitability standards. He is a Certified Financial Planner practitioner™ and holds a California Life and Disability Insurance license. Previously, Jim passed the NASD Series 7, 24, 63 and 66 securities licenses.
